Most drivers in Georgia know that It is incumbent upon them to exercise due care when driving. Accidents can easily happen when people fail to pay attention to what is going on around them while they are driving. A car accident that occurred in Villa Rica recently is a good example.
Three cars ended up being involved in the accident that took the life of one person and injured two other people. A truck with a horse trailer was ready to make a left hand turn when another pickup truck slammed into the back of the horse trailer. The pickup truck then ended up in oncoming traffic and crashed head on into another vehicle.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the driver of the truck with the horse trailer attached was not injured in the accident. The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were injured, but those injuries were treated at the scene. The driver of the car that was hit head on suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and it is not yet known what charges, if any, will be filed in connection with this tragic car accident. Meanwhile, the family of the deceased driver has the right to file a wrongful death claimed against the party or parties deemed responsible for the accident. If her family is able to provide evidence to the court that the driver of the pickup truck was negligent and that caused or contributed to the death of their loved one, then the court may award the family costs and damages they have sustained as the result of her death. This won't bring the woman back to her family, but it may help them achieve a sense of peace.
